My osteo in my knees is bad. I hurt so much to go anywhere. I have finally succumbed to taking the go carts around the store and it has made life so much easier and forgiving to grocery shop. How do you work on managing your knee pain?

" I know how you feel. I too suffer with this debilitating knee arthritis. I feel better with the grocery carts too. I use a cane, but feel better pushing the cart. This tells me that probably a walker would be a good idea, but I'm resisting that at the present time. The supplement your doctor recommended takes time to work, I'm told and needs to be taken regularly. The rest of what I do to try to help the pain, I explained with the other question you asked. All the best to you. "

" Hi, I am new to the group and was recently diagnosed with osteoperosis after my 2nd fracture. I am 37 years old but have been on steroids on and off for lupus which has affected my bone density. I have started to get a lot of knee pain over the last 4 motnhs. Can you tell me how you found out you had arthrities, queenie? Was it an xray? Thanks!

Heather "

" Heather, when my knee pain continued to worsen, I was referred to an orthopedist who ordered a large series of X-Rays, including weight bearing images. I then took my films to him, and he told me that I really need knee replacements but, because of lymphedema from cancer treatment, I wasn't a good candidate for surgery. "
