" Listen to your doctor's advise and advise given here and take good care of yourself. 48 is young, but I have heard of younger women getting this. Lots of milk. Yum! Lots of exercise. I am sorry you have this problem. You have come to a good place. "

" Listen to your doctor, but always remember that you must be proactive: don't be afraid to ask questions. It's your life and health and you have a right to know as much as you can. "

The medicine is Forteo. I hate needles with a passion. Its quite funny watching me inject myself. I am a wreck. I only been on it for 2 months. I have that and so many other things. Life is so full of surprises for me. I don't need any more surprises in my life like that. LOL It is very painful. I am so sick of pain. "

" I'm 45. I haven't had a bone scan yet and haven't actually been diagnosed with Osteoporosis, but I discovered last week that I have a compression fracture in my back. There aren't many other things that can cause that, so my doctor and I are making the assumption. I'm looking for all the info I can get. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of activity in this group on DS. I wish more people knew about it. "
