" Hi Happybones,

Fosamax is a Biphosphonate like Actonel and Boniva. All of these drugs have side effects. This same situation happened to me and aganist my doctors advice I stopped. I use a natural product that works very well. It works with Osteoblast(bone building)and slows down Osteoclast(bone resorption)this means you begin to build NEW and slow the break down of old bone. " Hi Happybones,

I'm with you, all the information out there is quite scary. There was an article in the NY Times yesterday that said that Osteoporosis drugs may actually be weakening the bones. Urgh! side effects for nothing?
Anyway here is a link to the article

Also, there is an Osteoporosis Telephone Seminar next week at
iGuard.org Dr. Bess Dawson-Hughes, the nation's leading expert on osteoporosisto will host this free telephone seminar on July 22 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Just go to iguard.org and register. I did, it is free. I hope she is ready for a lot of explaining. "

" Hi thanxs for your replies visted my Doc and explained about the dreadful side effects and all the symptoms. "I think you are a becoming a hypocondric" was the reply. I challenged this statement and informed him about the massive law suits. I was just dismissed and told to carry on with Fosamax.
Decision made by happybones tablets stopped never taking anymore of these...its my life my choice........ "

" I put up with the side effects for over a year. That is until I told doctor #2 that I was having more pain in my arms than the pain meds would take care of. Also on TV one symptom not to ignore is the pain. He said to stop for awhile. The extra pain went away, and the pain pills were able to do some good on the rest. "
