Question on mycophenolic acid

I havre been suffering with diarhea since transplant. Many things have probably aggrivated it, but recently I was taken off Myfortic (time release Mycophenolic acid) because my white blood cell count was/is dangerously low. After going 12 to 25 times a day for months all of a sudden i am using the bathroom like a nlormal person. It's like heaven.
I'm wondering has anyone else experienced this? If so Has any one tried a reduced dose and did it have any effect?
I'm between a rock and a hard place I know that I need this drug over the long haul and will be put back on it as soon as white count gets above 3.5. Problem is With the fact that I have no large intestine and the massive diarhea I will eventually starve to death as my body is not able to process enough protien to sustain itself.

" Yep, Mycophenolate can definitely cause diarrhea. I had it for months after my transplant. My nephrologist told me that it was most likely the culprit ad when my dose was lowered, the diarrhea got better. I haven't taken if for a few years now since we arre trying to get pregnant and have had very little problems with diarrhea now that I'm no lnger taking it. If we can manage to have a baby though, i will be back on the the moment the baby is born so I'll have to get used to running to the bathroom again. Good luck! "

" It gave me diarrhea at first too, but it seemed to get better even though I have to take an Immodium Advanced capsule every other day to control it.

I've found that my Prograf seems to be the real culprit for me. When they raised it, my symptoms of diarrhea came back. They're getting back under control again.

I think the body just has to get used to it. "
