help with JP drain after kidney transplant!?

my JP drain is leaking at the incision site more than it is draining into the bulb. my nurse said it looked fine and it can happen sometimes, showed me how to make sure to keep any blood that sticks in there thinned out and keep it from clotting and called the doctor anyway. The doctor said the nurse said it looked fine but i can go back in (200miles away) if it would make me more comfortable. My coordinator called and asked about it. it's a normal color (light pink still), no odor.. just so leaky that i have to change clothes 3-4 times a day! do i go into a local hospital and ask or wait for clinicals on the 23rd when i have to drive back to the hospital i recieved the transplant at, anyway?
i'm told that some people have more problems with leaking than others but there has been hardly anything draining into the bulb anymore so i feel like the clot is thicker than the nurse is thinking? this is more annoying than worrisome to me.. i have resulted to gauze/taping it as normal covering it all up.. then taping a super absorbent mechanics paper towel to the place that it's leaking from!! lol Posted on 05/17/12, 10:31 pm |
