I am wondering if anyone here has heard that there is now a new treatment which has been developed for optic nerve disorders such as ONH by using umbilical cord stem cells. The first three kids have all had measurable improvements. I am the person who has developed this treatment and I am wondering what people are thinking about it. I have been looking for some feedback from those with ONH about the recent news of my work. You can read about it on www.stemcellschina.com if you do please let me know if you have any feedback for me because I want to make sure that what I am doing is easily understood by non medical people and that the reading and source materials make sense to people with no medical training and/or back ground. I would love to get some feedback from folks on this board if anyone is open to talking with me it would be very helpful for me. I am sure that you understand in this day and age of scams involving identity theft and such it is highly unwise to provide personal information to just anyone. i will say that I am a registered nurse and have been for many years. Your name does not come up in the public Illinois license look-up as holding a nursing license. Maybe it is because of the hyphenated name, I didn;t enter it correctly? Like googling your name this is public internet look-up site. Please advise us on where to verify your credentials. Thank you for all of your hardwork!

I am still waiting your help by replying on my questions. I told you that my friend is 25 years old now and she is blind since she was born because of ONH. Did this ONH treatment succeed with an adult people? .. Is there any cases for treatment in her age?Do you think there is any hope for her to get her eyesight again by treatment in China?

Please read this article from just over a month ago: http://www.modernmedicine.com/mode... This Kirshner Ross-Vaden person contacted me on my blog about half a year ago and I thought it was odd to solicit a service like this. I want nothing more than to help my daughter if I can, but I don't tthink it's normal to solicit your surgery on sites where people are blogging about their worries, or on a forum looking for help. Its preying on the emotional families. It's disgusting. Our doctor is a wonderful, research conducting, long time studying - Pediatric Ophthalmologist and he never mentioned this to us. Don't you think this news - this phenomenal - amazing procedure - would be in some sort of medical journal that all of OUR doctors would have come across and relayed to us? When was the last time someone peddled overseas procedures to parents and it wasn't creepy?

I completely agree. If there was a treatment our specialist would tell us. It is completely rediculous that someone would stalk parents in a forum like this.

Hello i was just wondering would i be able to be treated i have ONH with nystagmus.When i was born the doctors said i would be blind for the rest of my life. i am now 19 and can see fairly well but cannot get a drivers licence and this is really bothering me. Any feedback would be great thanks.

All I can tell you is that my blind baby is now a toddler who can see. And an FYI.... Kirshner is no longer with the program. And there are reasons the experts/doctors here in the US do not tell us about this treatment. If anyone has questions about it, please email me and I would be glad to talk about my experience and perspective more in depth... and please read our blog.

My daughter has had this treatment also and has improved from 20/400 to 20/80. Some may think that's not much but she's very happy.
