My son was on Abilify for about 8 months. I noticed it helped some with this opposition, but he gained a little over 20lbs, so we stopped it. So far I haven't put him on anything else, but I'm seriously leaning towards it since he seems to be spiraling out of control again.
Good luck with the Abilify if you try it. I'm sure there are plenty of people who may have handled it just fine.

Are you sure the Risperdal stopped working, mayeb his dosage wasn't correct anymore? It took a while to get my son on the right dosage of Risperdal and after 6 months on the correct dosage I was able to take him off and he has been great. This was 2 months ago and I haven't had an issue. he is still on Lamectin though.

my son was on risperdal and we had wonderful results, we had to make adjustments to his doage from time to time but it did its job! He however suffered tooth decay from it, and as result we put him on ablilfy, it is a very strong anti psyhcotic (sp) and mood stabalizer, but it is the same family as risperdal and it does work. We have had weight gain issues though. Good luck
