We have an adopted daughter that was pos for cocain at birth. She was ridged and fussy for the 1 year. Cried all the time. As years went by she was always unhappy and just wouldn't fit in to the family. This summer we let her go live with a family member out of state. She is the only child in the home and they are very active which we can't be due to age and health. My point is she is so happy and well adjusted after 5 weeks the plans are for her to stay there for sometime. She is on no meds doing good in school happy even when not getting her way. Just a normal kid. Did she have ODD or was it just not the right fit with us. While it breaks our heart to lose her in the 7.5 years we had her she has never been as happy as she seems in just 5 weeks.

" Children with oppositional defiant disorder often lose their anger easily and often. Parents should look into a behavior modification program to get a handle on the defiant behavior. "

" We did all the things the experts said to do and she just wouldn't/couldn't except anything we said or did. She is very happy where she is and we are so very gratful for this. I just wonder if the dx was wrong "
