I was wondering if anyone could suggest any good books for me to read on OCD, something that might bring me some comfort. With my school and work schedule, it is so hard to schedule an appointment with my psychologist, and I feel like my days would go by better if I had something to read on this that may give some tips on coping or managing. I'm having a tough day with my thoughts today, and I just think it'd be nice to read something that would make things seem like they're in control again.

" if its intrusive thoughts you suffer from which i think it is? 'imp of the mind' by Lee baer is quite a good book to buy, i have the ocd workbook too but it focuses to much on rituals, checking, contamination etc and not enough about intrusive thoughts. this book completely focuses on thoughts only! you should give it a go "

" I was recommended Feeling Good, by David D. Burns. It looks like a promising book so far (lots of a-ha, that's me), but due to my state of mind I can't read many pages before I get tired/annoyed. "

" I recommend "Just Checking: Scenes From The Life Of An Obsessive Compulsive" by Emily Colas. She talks candidly about her symptoms but also provides a great deal of humor and wit. She discusses intrusive thoughts which it sounds like you are looking for but also contamination and checking rituals among other things. "

" Brainlock by jeff swartz, tormenting thoughts and secret rituals by ian osbourne are good books. Also the mindful way through depression by Mark Williams, John Teasdale, Zindel Segal, and Jon Kabat-Zinn is an excellent book, really helped me alot. "

" I have found "Overcoming Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" helpful, it has worksheets and questions in it too. It's by David Veale and Rob Wilson.
A very helpful book for your close family or even friends is one called "Loving Someone With OCD." "
