I have a friend that has OCD. He just started college this year and left the dorm room to live with his grandmother due to what he felt was germy and dirty. Washes hands until they bleed. Very Very Angry and can be obusive. Very controlling young man. Extremely jealous of sibling and parents attention.
His Father has tried to get him help however he flies off the deep end and says he doesnt ever want to talk about it.

From what I've read this illness will continue to worsen if not treated. Is that correct?

If any of you know how his family can possibly help him please let me know.

Thanks so much for any advice.

" I'll try to help as much as I can, but I don't really know a lot about this area, just to warn you in advance.

If there is any possible way that he is doing harm to himself (suicidal), I believe you can have them be committed? I know that seems drastic, but he probably does need some sort of help.

Also, maybe call a psychologist and explain the situation to them. They would probably be able to figure out what to do and give you suggestions on how to help your friend.

I'm sorry, I really don't have much experience in this area on how to help others who don't want the help, but I hope I at least helped you a little bit. "
