my tinnitus(ear ringing) has come back and it's driving me nuts. I am having panic (in part due to obsessing over it's cause--my OCD keeps saying its cancer). Of course I need to refocus but it is so hard when your head sounds like a car horn is blaring constantly.
the other thing that sucks is I am getting no compassion from my wife or daughter. I think they are just burnt out on the whole OCD thing. And I am not helping as I am in a really BAD mood atm. All I know how to do know is pray at this point. I am panicky depressed and obsessing. Any suggestions are welcome. I reread my old post on this subject several months ago. thanks to all that take the time to respond--and if you can say a prayer for God to give me peace I'd appreciate it. My payers are with you. Would it help even just for a few minutes, to stick in a pair of ear buds and listen to some music? Relief from the ringing, I mean. It's a common thing, ear ringing. I've never heard it as a symptom of any kind of cancer. If that helps.

I'm not sure what meds you're on, but if you are troubled by the mood swings/depression have u discussed these syptoms with your doctor? Maybe they need 2B adjusted? The ear ringing, my husband has that too from a lot of years working in a stamping plant- u just may have to live with it, unless there's a cure I don't know about- if there is, post it pleez! :)

I use a white noise radio for my tinitus. It helps at least to get me to sleep. Plays sound like the ocean waves, rain etc. I do have to change the channel sometimes because the ringing sometimes gets in sync with it, then you really want to go crazy. I had it for about a year or more; got so loud that I had a hard time hearing the TV. Drs. ran a catscan because my brother had acoustic nuroma, which is a growth on the eardrum, basically had 'brain surgery' to remove it. You DONT have that since your ringing has come and gone. I did not have it either;nor cancer..just annoying ringing. I woke up one morning and it was gone??? It now comes and goes.
I will say an extra prayer for you tonight.

Tinnitus has many causes none of which are cancer to my knowledge. It could be a medication you are taking prescription or over the counter, sinus trouble, ear damage, aspirin. There's a long list. I have Meneir's disease which can cause tinnitus, vertigo, and hearing loss usually only one ear. I am one of the lucky ones that rarely gets tinnitus with mine and if I do it is brief, thank goodness.
