I know OCD consumes our lives, and I know that OCD is not funny but we have to find something to laugh at about OCD or else we will go crazy!
So Im starting a thread where we can all post funny stuff about OCD, for example something you did that you found funny and laughed at once the panic was over or maybe an OCD joke...The only thing is that it has to be clean and not at the expense of another OCD person.
So go right ahead and if you think this is inappropriate then go ahead and let it know :)

" Ok here's a joke I just read.

How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light blub?

One. But the light bulb must WANT to change. "

" I think this is a good idea as well. It def. isn't funny but we can have jokes and what not to help ease our OCD minds.

" my sister and I both have a thing with counting & numbers. I hate even numbers & she hates odd numbers. When we turn up the volume on anything and we can see numbers as the volume increases...we will take turns switching the volume around...she will turn it until it's on an even number and then I will change it to an odd number.
we will go back and forth forever until one of us leaves the room while the other one changes it so we dont have to see the numbers!
-lol- "

" Could you imagine a bunch of us anxious OCDers in the same room for an hour? We'd be counting, clearing our throats, doing nervious eye twitches, and straightening up the pictures, the nic nacks....just like a room full of "Monks!" "

" -lol-
i don't even want to picture that.
it's bad enough living with 2 other people with OCD.
my mom's a clean freak, everything has to be cleaned a certain way.
my sister & i argue over numbers.
my sister used to flick light switches everytime she walked in or out of a room.
hahaha "

" I agree that humor is such a great way to relieve stress! We are all rather goofy in my family! There is not ONE day that goes by that we are not laughing at something. It does help. We live in KY, and one evening a big beetle flew in front of my son's face and scared him. He squished it. My husband and I looked at each other and laughed and said "I hope that beetle's brother aint around to get even". Like on queue-another beetle flew into the open patio door, and made a beeline right for Dave's butt crack (which is always hanging out and is another thing that we laugh about) and flew down his pants. He frantically stripped off his shorts and then burst out laughing. By then, we were rolling on the floor laughing!! We now call these beetles "butt beetles"! He is not afraid of them now, he just makes a joke out of it if he sees one, and pulls his pants up!! :-) "
