Hello Everyone,
I am new to this Group--been concentrating more on my depression lately, and finally got a break to write in this Group.

My OCD is getting worse. Besides all the rituals I do, i.e., handwashing (I go through 6 towels a day because they are wet) and note writing, i.e., take a shower, make ice, etc., I am now starting to ASK/TELL OTHERS: "Did you wash your hands?", "Don't touch that, it has germs", "Write it down or you will never remember it", etc.

Does anyone else have that problem...I would appreciate any and all advice. Thank you!

" Hi!

I have OCD too--my hands bleed from handwashing also...I am a 52-year old woman that took medicine for OCD and had counselling for it...I don't know the medications names, but the counselling did more (unfortuneatly not as much as I wanted). Is there anyway you can afford or is there any place where you can take your son on a sliding scale to counselling...and I am just curious, what medication is he on? Judi "

" I Know its Extremly Tough to Deal With OCD And Family..I'm A Mom Of Two And the Older They Get The More I Stress About Stressing Them..Thank God My Family Is Very Supportive..My Husbands the Greatest And My Kids Understand To A point That This is not Something I Asked For...Or Even Realize I'm Doing....I Found The Most Difficult Is It Effects My Relationships With Family Members..when I'm In My Zone....Doing Routines Ect.....I Zone Out ..I Tune Out Everyone And Everything....For This One I Actually Brought My Husband With Me Into A Session With My Doctor To Try And Help Him Understand...It Helped Us And I Don't See Why It Couldn't Help Anyone Else...It Can Be An Uncomfortable Situations But It Might Help.
