Since my divorce in 08 my obsessive thoughts have come back after being gone for almost 8 years. I have suicidal thoughts all the time along with depersonalization symptoms ( feeling like you are outside yourself watching yourself). I don't believe i want to die but I am so depressed. I know these symptoms came back because of the stress that I'm going through but how do I make it stop? I am so scared. I also miss my old life and can't let go. Any advice? Thanks, brett

" I'm not sure you can make thoughts stop, sorry, but I would suggest seeing or making an appointment with a counsellor, if you haven't already.

Its not easy having intrusive thoughts but just keep in mind that its just OCD when they enter your head, doesn't mean you are going to act on them.
Maybe the only thing you might be able to do is keep yourself busy or distract yourself when the thoughts enter your head. Do something you enjoy, be it listen to a song, read, write (always a good one- especially if you write about the thought itself and how you feel) or call someone close or a friend to speak about it.
