" I just went to a dr. today and got a perscription. I've been online reading about it. My brother, his wife and a girl from work are all taking it and recommended it to me. I'll write back and let you now how it goes. "

" Hi, I am new to this group, but I can tell you a little about this diet pill.
There are side effects, but it all depends on if your Dr. thinks your weight is a greater risk than some of the side effects. I think another name for it is Phentermine, and yes it was part of the Phen-Fen, but taken by itself, and not in combination with anyother diet pills, it works fine for most. Now there is always the exception, but that is with anything.
I have been taking it since Oct. 08' and I have lost approx. 75 pounds, it is not an instant cure, and I visit my Dr. on a regular basis, you must exercise, and make healthier choices in what you eat. It has changed my life, and I will never go back to being that overweight again, my goal is 100 pounds, and I think I am at a stand still right now, but I will get back to losing again!
Good luck! SS "

" I myself, have not had any ill side effects. When I first started taking it I only needed to sleep like 5 hours or so, and then I was ready to go again.
It does say you can become addicted to it, but my Dr. lowers the doses so that you gradually come off of it. He told me that you must realize it is just an aid in losing weight, not the reason you are losing it. We all must exercise and watch our diet, and drink lots of water. I asked him if he had a paper so I could remember all this detail, and he patted me on the shoulder and said 'honey, you must change your life to this, and know that this is how it should be' I was speechless, because he was so right! " The doctor basically said that fastin was a waste of my time and money...as well as addicting and you would gain all the weight back as soon as you were off it...recommended Alli instead. "

" As with any diet aid, or supplement you MUST exercise and watch your diet also. Anything you take will take a certain amount of weight off of you to some point, but they all say with regular exercise and healthy diet.
In my case I have had to completely change my life style. I know Fastin gives you a boost in metabolism when you first start taking it. This did help me because at 261 pounds I did not want to walk 2 miles at least 5 days a week, and I struggled in doing it even when I was taking the pills, but now I walk about 8 miles a day at the same time in 2 hours or less. So it is what you set out to do. I know people that took both of the diet drugs we have talked about and some have kept it off with both, and some have gained it all back after getting off of both.
We must realize that it is a life style change and not just a skinny pill! "
