REASONS TO WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT

Another member wrote a discussion for help with motivation. Maybe listing all our diverse reasons to lose weight will be helpful!

1. I want to have my diabetes go away.
2. I want to be able to do active things.
3. I want to stop being self-conscious in public.
4. I want to want to have sex again some day LOL.
5. I want to fit in normal sized-clothes.
6. I want to feel good in my body.
7. I don't want to be the biggest person at a
gathering.
9. I don't want my friends and relatives to nag
me anymore about my weight.
10. I don't want to be asked if I'm pregnant ever
again.
11. I want to stop avoiding mirrors and even more,
to like what I see in them!
12. I don't want to stay in a job or relationship
because of my weight.
13. I don't want to lose out on job opportunities
because of my weight.
14. I don't want to hear nasty remarks about my
weight.
15. I don't want to dread flying because of my
weight.
16. I want to lose my fear of meeting new people.

" it's okay, if you don't have any rhythm. if you practice on it you will be a good dance and you can also use it as a way to work out. as for your husband making fun of you, i would've challenged him to see if he could do it better and laughed at him. you know, make it a fun night for you both. not everyone is a good dancer but trying still helps. i know, i'm not very good, but i might try a dance video like salsa dancing or something. "

2. to reduce physical and emotional pain (feel better)
3. to look better
4. to be able to do more things
5. to face the challenge and meet a goal
6. to be healthier for upcoming surgerie(s)
7.to be able to buy the cuter clothes at walmart instead of the smaller and uglier section in the womans section.
8. to save my life and no longer be morbidly obese
9.to not have to face the judgements of people who look at my size and see me as something less because I am something more .
10. to be a positive role model for others such as my sister
11. to be able to do this for myself as well as please those who have cared for me. "

1. I want to be able to keep up with my children.
2. I want my feet and knees and back to hurt less.
3. I want to feel good in my body.
4. I want to not feel self-conscious when I eat in public.
5. I want to ride bikes with my family and not feel like I look silly, perched on top of a bicycle seat.
6. Adult-onset diabetes runs in my family. I don't want to be the next one.
7. I teach high school students. I don't want to be the subject of mean weight-related comments.
8. I want to coach my daughter's soccer team.
9. I want to be able to buy clothes in regular stores.
10. For my family.....I want to hike, camp, kayak, canoe, play raquetball, swim, bike, and do all the active things that my husband and I did before I got fat. I want to share my love of the outdoors with my kids, so they don't end up in my situation. I want to be a good role model for them! "

" I want for other women to stop hitting on my bf when we are out....because they think because they are thin they can just take him if they want.....Thankfully, he hasn't seemed to take the bait yet.....lol.... We were out doing karaoke last Saturday, and three women came up to dance with him when he was singing....would they have done that if I were thin and attractive? Maybe....

I have had several women make plays for my husbands/bfs whatevers over the years.....who told people they thought they could get them to leave because I was fat and they were thinner.

It is so disrespectful....but I guess that is life. We are judged by our "appearance" and some people feel automatically more "worthy" if they are thin and I am fat.

I know if I lose weight, that does not guarantee me anything....but at least I won't be judged immediately as "less than" because of being fat. "
