just a thought

people in elementey , high school , work , basically all ages starts out young and carries through there life... elementry if they do good they get a sticker or a prize for good behaivior same with high school , pencils , school suplies , money prizes, and work environment they get raises , stickers , pins , anything rewarding or other materials that are given for a reward

well what if we did that , pick a goal to lets say loose 10 lbs in two months , then buy your self a new out fit , or a new book or a new coffee cup

or for those with bigger gaols start small so u dont frusturate ur self but lets say loose 50 lbs and then when u do bye ur self new shoes take ur self out for a supper , or book a spa day to ur self to relax and enjoy

may help people to be more motivated

could it work ???? would it hurt to try !!!!

" That's what I have done in the past. Every 10 pound marker I allow myself to be a new outfit or pair of shoes. After 40 pounds I even let myself get the tattoo I had been wanting for years. 1 thing to remember though- the reward shouldn't be food. (I've read this in numerous magazines) "

" I do this too.

One of the best rewards is finding something that I like and then trying it on and it fits! I don't even have to buy it a lot of the time! Just knowing I CAN is wonderful!

I have also rewarded myself in the following ways:

Gotten a new hair cut or color (10 pounds total)
A pedicure (20 pounds total)
A day out visiting a tea shop where I got several new teas I would not normally buy (30 pounds)
A massage (40 pounds total)

When I hit 50 I am going to do something special as well but I have not decided what that will be yet.

Any ideas??? :)

Dawn "

" I think positive reinforcement always works to change behavior. I like your suggestion to start small because I think a small pleasure every 5 pounds would be more motivating for me that a bigger pleasure at 25 pounds. "
