" I read an article in Men's Health magazine that completely discredits the glycemic index. According to the glycemic index, 3/4 of a twix bar is healthier for you than 5 cups of watermelon! YEAH RIGHT! Most people have the sense to figure it out on their own, but at the same time, we have people looking to lose weight by eating cookies all day long, so I guess I can't have too much faith. My general rule of thumb has become if its easy, its a lie... Haven't we already spent enough money on quick fixes? "

" AND not to mention, unless you're working out 8-10 hours a day like the people on the Biggest Loser, anything higher than 3-4lbs in a week ISN'T fat! Its water, considering your body is 70%(? 80% between the two..) water, its a BAD thing to lose. Especially since you pee out your lost fat and your body just neeeeeds water. Period "

" that just seems totally insane...yea you losing the weight...but can you afford that kind of money for the rest of your life to stick to it...im guessing not...in which case as soon as you come off it you will gain the weight again...waste of money really.
I go to slimming world...pay £4.50 a week....around $8 and get constant support from my consaultant...meet with everyone else in the group once a week....and eat the same as what the rest of my family do....surely there must be something far more better for you than this. I mean ive lost 9 pounds in two weeks and spent £9...about $16. and yea have brought different food from shopping...but if anything spending less money...not eating out, take aways ect....even spend £6 about $10 a week to go swimming twice a week...exercise and healthy eating...changing your eating habbits and exercise will help you lose weight and keep it off not obscene amounts of money!!!!
i wish you luck. "

" I have now lost 15 lbs and to the last reply the program gets you back to eating more healthy carbs so that you don't rely on the diet of drinks and snack bars after the 4th week. I will be on week 4 starting next week and will start reintroducing the healthy carbs. About the water loss do you know how long the loss will last? I mean ultimately your body must gain back that water ...right? Is it gained back right away or does it come back over time? "

" Artemis, GOOD FOR YOU!!!

I have many family members on low glycemic because of health issues...mainly diabetes. I have lupus and my Doctor has recommended it for me as well because of weight gain due to some meds. I for one feel better!

You do what you have to do to learn what you need to know to get and stay healthy!
