Hi I actually was in the best shape I was ever in because of this drug. Just be careful because eventually it looses it's potency and you become tolerant. Eventually I stopped taking it and missed it because it gave me so much energy. When I stopped taking it I gained a lot of the weight back because I just didn't have the energy to exercise. This can be avoided though, just vow to stick to your program when you go off.

Hi there, just beware that you can experience heart palpitations and panic attacks on them. I had to stop taking the pills my heart was skipping beats and made me feel really anxious. Good luck. Hugs Denise

Haven't heard of it, but from the replies I get the impression it's not as safe as we'd all like it to be.
There just isn't a "Magic Pill" for us! (darn!!)

I have taken Phentermine numerous times over the past few years, so have a bunch of my friends. I lost 40 pounds and then my doctor said to stop taking it for a few months. Over those few months I put the 40 pounds back on and extra weight. Appartently you should only take it for 3 months and then get off it for 3 months and then take it for 3 months etc...They make you stop because you build a tolerance for it and it stops working after a few months..so you have to take a break for a few months before you can get back on it.
The problem with this drug is that it completly suppresses your appetite. You don't eat. There were days I only ate 200 calories. It is not the healthy way to lose weight. You cannot starve yourself and expect to keep the weight off. You cannot take this pill forever and when you stop your appetite comes back full force. So your body holds onto every bite you eat once you stop the pill because it fears you will starve it again. I would not recommend this really for anyone. Every one of my friends experienced the same thing. They gained all their weight back and then some extra weight too. There is no miracle pill to cure being overweight. I would recommend doing it healthy by cutting portion size, avoiding sugars, don't drink soda, don't eat fast food, and exercise...

I am actually taking this drug along with Bontril, mainly because I have to be up many days from 7am to 2 or 3 am, which at night I go craving crazy! I have lost over 30lbs so far. It does have the side effects of insomnia, jitteriness, tongue biting, palpitations, and several others. I didn't have the more severe of the side effects though.

I would have to agree with everthing Cher said. You really have no desire to eat at first and it does make you alittle manic. I would talk people's ears off and felt a little high. Unfortuately I have an addictive personality and it sucked when it lost it's potency. Now that I think about it me and my husband took it together and I remember him saying he thinks it messed both our metabolisisms (sp) up. We gained a lot of weight in the following years.

Hi, I've been on phentermine for a little less than a year now, and have enjoyed tremendous weight-loss. I'm down 84lbs since starting it. I DO get hungry! My appetite is not completely suppressed, as some have mentioned, although I do not doubt for one second that this drug works differently for each and every person. The only side effect I ever suffered was being very jittery for the first 3 or 4 days I took it. You are supposed to take it on an empty stomach, so it's really potent at first. My doc recommended taking it with milk during the first week to reduce the effects, and it worked. Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know that phentermine has been an amazing tool for me. There are risks to every drug, so talk to your doctor about the risks, and decide what's best for you. I'm here if you want to talk!

I have heard of Phentermine and I have taken it for weight loss. It worked great for me, but its not for everyone. Its a stimulant so it can make you anxious. You should check out user reviews in google, they have some good information there.
