Hey I take the phentermine which is the generic. I love it. First few days I only took a half a pill then went to a whole. You will need to make sure you do not skip a meal. You want even feel hungry but make sure you eat a small portion of something. I have been on it since 1-30-08 and have lost 20 pounds as of today. You will also might consider taking stool softneres on a regular basis b/c you will probably have isues if you don't. Evertyone I have spoke to that takes them has. Mine cost me $14 a month. It's nice compared to $75 for meridia that I was on for a year. Well good luck.

What kind of doctor is giving you the prescription? Primary care, diet doc?

I took phentermine for a month. The first two weeks it helped a lot. The second two weeks it was like taking a drink of water. I could take the pill and eat like I used to. I gave it up after a month. Now I am doing my own plan and it is working better for me.

Is it an appetite suppressent like Meridian? Or is it the generic for that drug?

I got it from my family DR. If i try to get i get sick, plus i take this with topmax and paxil... All i do is drink water. I cant sleep bc i am so hyper 24/7 it is great..

I always take mine around 5:30 am. And eat a small bowl of oatmill soon after or it makes me feel sick. But love, love it!!! Good luck!!!
