There are times when I feel like I'm just filling my time cooking, eating, and cleaning up after food just to avoid the pain I feel from loneliness and memory work.

Does anyone else do this?

On fri's or over the wk end,I use to cook/pre pair food for the following wk. It was more of task but it took up time/past time by.Now I get lost in kitchen but I manage.
I miss bakeing. I use to bake n give out gift baskets/bags. but now people are so sue happy, I don't dare.

I enjoy the company of others but I also like my own company.
I also enjoy skype n live web cam chats w my family n friends ... & DS
I also like quite time n tv or netflex time & even granny naps.

due to hot weather. everyone I know that also lives at bch. lay down during the hottest part of dy.
I'm a morning person. most recently instead of having task done by 11 AM. I'm done by 9.
yesterday I went grocery shopping at 5:30AM @ wal mart. I was bk home before 6:30 AM.the temperture was 72 degress & store wasn't crowded. by 9Am it was in 80tys, by 10Am it was already 105 degress. My poor flower garden. the veg garden is burnt up from hot weather.

Maybe having indoor garden would be nice 4 u to have, if u don't already have.
If u opt. u 2 might like to obtain friends around the world - diffrent time zones -to do live chats w. I like yahoo messenger.
DS is 24/7, nice to read post n reply n post & jounal.
I also play on line games. that passes time & is relaxing. I use to like Farmvelle but now all it is, is pop ups.

will my support buddy just arrived in from his pm job. he arrives in on or between 12AM to 2 AM.
he now stays in rm that my formor AM assistant used.she use to come in aprox 1 AM to sleep in. according to her it saved her time in
doing so. she did so at no extry cost to me.

" All the time. Food is my emotional best friend and my body's archenemy! When i am at my most unstable i will binge, when i am happy i want to cook something special. Neither response is a good one. It is hard to break that cycle, mine has been Very active for the last 20 odd years.
I found that planning in my meals for the week, knowing what i am going to cook. Helps with the spontaneous food/cooking cravings. Also finding a better way to spend you time is key. TV for me is no good, it actually makes me want to eat more and to fill those minutes when i get bored. I have a dog, i plan in a walk with him every day straight after work, to break the work/home thoughts, and i listen to a audio book the whole time. That helps me release the work thoughts.
When i am feeling lonely, i have started going onto DS, but that doesn't always help either. You need to learn to accept that you will feel lonely and that it is okay.
Focus on new hobbies/habbits to fill your time. Gardening? Walks? knitting? painting? Do things for yourself, have a long shower, take a bath, exfoliate, moisturize, treat yourself with things that aren't food related.
Also learning to control your thoughts, to banish the work ones really quick is very useful. And if you really feel like this is all a bit too much, go seek help. Find a support group (not online, in person is better), the world is filled with people who have very similar issues. So you are never really alone. "

" Eekrss as usual has some great ideas.

When you say 'memory work', do you mean like with a counsellor? If so, mention this to them and see if they can help you 'warm down' from the intensity of the session, the same way you might if you had physically worked out. They might have tips or techniques to get you back to a positive frame of mind. "

" I'm addicted to food and i love eating ;which was also my downfall and one of the main reasons i gained so much weight and got up to 465.

What i did was i decided to EMBRACE my addiction and instead began eating a lot of HEALTHY foods. Instead of snacking on chips, i ate fruit or we also switched to Sun Chips and Pop Chips for a healthier alternative. I replaced other junk snack foods with nuts and i usually keep a few hard boiled eggs in the fridge and grab one when i feel the need, especially with being a powerlifter and needing the protein anyway.

Your body is a burning furnace, so by eating smaller, more nutritional meals and snacks to it throughout the day, your body will burn and use it much more efficiently. "
