Last night I hung a pair of jeans on my fridge. They are a size 10. Right now I can only get them up to my thighs. I will be able to wear them in 60 days.
I will lose 20-25 lbs by then. Every time I walk into the kitchen, I see these jeans. They are super cute, button fly, low rise, Lucky brand jeans. I bought them for myself in March for my birthday. So my date is August 30th. I will have lost at least 20 lbs by then, or I will give the jeans away. Posted on 07/02/12, 08:19 pm |

When most of what I read regarding weight loss suggests 1 to 2 pounds as a healthy, achievable and maintainable loss I have to wonder: is this goal of 20-25 lbs. in just 8 weeks an attainable goal?
How do you feel if you set a goal and don't reach it? On the other hand a more realistic goal, once achieved, can be very motivating. What if you lost 12 lbs. by Aug. 30, wouldn't that still be something to celebrate?

I'd probably be ok with losing 15, by then, but really want to be 30 lbs lighter by November.
I'll be seeing a bunch of friends in November and would love to be at my ultimate goal weight!

Just be careful not to undermine your own success. By November sounds very realistic. I find it also helps to keep in mind that different labels have very different sizing. I've fit a size 12 in one brand, then found a 14 in another brand way too small the same day. If something doesn't fit I need to remember that the problem is with the clothing, not with me. I'm entitled to have cute jeans regardless of my size, and if I look good in a 14 then what is the point of kicking myself that they're not a 10?

Fiber, I know I have issues about my weight. You would think knowing that I do, I could get over them. The number on the scale and the size on my clothes will predict how I feel during the day.
I lost over 80 lbs, I know how to do this. I don't know why I can't drop the last 25ish! And I am scared that once I do get down to 135-140 that I'll think, hmmm maybe if I lose just 5 more lbs and I'll look better. I'm afraid I'll never be satisfied.
