I am currently 253 pounds and my height is 5'5. I am an emotional eater and its causing me to gain way too much weight. I can do good all through the day and then when I get home at night I am back to my old ways. SUCKS! I gained this weight due to my pregnancy 1 year ago. Now I have high blood pressure, mild sleep apnea, and I just feel like crap. I have no energy to do anything. Iam only 24. I need help so badly. I was looking at pictures of myself when I was a 12 and 160 pounds and I looked so much happier and healthier. Im too afraid to date anyone because Im scared of what they may think about me. Im just really insecure. Help me!!

It helps if I knew what you normal eat during the day and how often you eat. Maybe there is something your eating that is causing you to over eat at night? Do you eat beef, milk or cheese that has any fat in it? Does any of your foods have high fructose corn syrup in it or other sugars? Most likely you are leptin resistant (most obese people are) causing you not to stay with your diet. There is alot of info on Leptin resistance (and stress too). This is just one view. http://www.foreverslenderprogram.c... Have you tried anything for stress reduction like meditation?
What are you doing for your sleep apnea? Read http://www.sciencedaily.com/releas...

I've tried doing stuff when they are not too many people around. like swimming a bit earlier in the day or playing air drums to really loud music in my room or putting my head phones on and going for a walk really early in the morning. its usually the shame and guilt that we associate with being overweight that stops us from doing exactly what we need to do to lose the weight. like when I'd ride my bike and people would tell me I'd break the bicycle. my skins no thicker to criticism now than when i was a teenager. so i do things at odd times or in the loo at work or in the corridor or in my room or on a really cold day when everyone's in doors. i've actually made friends this way. hope it can help. case it cant i'm always at the end of a message if you just want to vent, no advice, no do this tips

I can relate to what you are going through. My 2 cents would be to start a execise schedule and stop worrying about the food part. In my case it is more like a circle, whenever I focus on my eating part then I feel depressed more and then eat more.So I figure as long I exercise evryday atleast I'm burning those calories.

i feel for you, i have been there, i got up to 295 pounds this year, i am 28 and have had problems with food all my life. same as you good or restricting to point of starving hunger all day then binge my brains out all evening. i have tried everything i could think of to get out of that living nightmare and only 1 thing has ever really worked for me. a support group called food addicts in recovery anonymous. not an easy option at all but it free and offers unlimited support just a phone call away. i am down to 215 pounds now after coming back to FA end of may this year. i feel so much better and i can relax knowing all the excess weight is still coming off and will stay off when i reach goal weight.

Well, I know of several people who were skinny their whole lives (all ages), and just out of the blue, gained over 50 pounds within a year. Nobody can figure out why and nobody has medical problems. So, they have come to the conclusion that somebody, maybe the government itself, is doing something deliberate to people, making this happen to them. And, I am beginning to think so too. Many of these people who I know are women who are picky about food, were picky before they gained the weight, and have not changed their lifestyle. So, I found what they all have in common--they have ALL been to the dentist and they have ALL received a flu shot some time in their lives.
