night hunger

Does anyone else out there ever experience night hunger? I eat properly throughout the day meeting the goals that my dietician has set out for me (ie. calories (I'm usually under what she says my max should be), I meet or exceed the amount of protein I should eat, I am usually a little over my fat grams (today I was over by 15g and that's usually the highest I will go, I am under on the carbs, and I usually meet my fibre content) so I don't understand why I feel like I haven't eaten for a week late at night. This usually happens around 11pm or midnight. Does anyone else ever experience this? Oh, and I do get my 8 glasses of water in sometimes in the form of flavoured water or sometimes in the form of tea. Anyone have any ideas on why this might be happening or what I can do? I have put on sooooo much weight because of this happening.

I vey often get hungry in the evenings. Not actual physical hunger but rather a desire to eat everything in the house. For me I think it comes partially from habit, and partially because I'm winding down and want to relax with food, and also because the days or weeks events are usually weighing on me. Sometimes I don't even realize until I start journaling, then alot of feelings come out. I hope this helps some. good luck.

Hi Messina, thanks for replying. I never even thought of keeping a journal about how I was feeling at the time when I was hungry at night and perhaps why. I do notice though that if I go to bed before 11pm then I can forget about the food and just sleep but if I'm up at 11 then I'm absolutely ravishingly hungry. Maybe it's my body's way of telling me it's time for bed? Seems kind of a strange way to react though? Anyways, thanks for giving me the advice. I appreciate it.
