Ugghh... I weighed in this morning at 298! Last week I was 298!! I went to gym five times and did home videos two times this week! I was hoping for at least a pound! I guess it could be that I ate out three times this week:( I am good when I am in my house with my boyfriend. We don't eat out because we are broke. But... when I go home to see my parents for a couple of days, it's no good. They eat out all of the time. I'm not blaming them cause I could have chose something healthier than the large size value meal! It's just so tempting. Then I get mad that I didn't lose any weight. I hate weighing in and seeing no results because I want to just say screw it and quit trying!! Ahhhhh, so frustrating...

" I know how frustrating it is, when you've worked really hard all week but the scale stays the same. You have probably heard this before, but I bet you've built some new muscle and toned up, which could be why the scale didn't move. You're doing really well!! "

" Hey the scale didn't go up. I bet you may feel a little different though--your stomach flatter, your pants loser. Weight doesnt always show at once, Fluid levels fluctuate. Also, muscle is a factor if you are exercising, Hang in there, friend. "

" You didn't gain! That is a plus!
I do not own a scale! I am not joking, my Dr. told me that weighing many times a day, or a week, would frustrate you more than help you.
So I weigh about once a month!
You can do this! THINK POSITIVE!!!
xoxo... "

" Eating out comes with a lot of hurdles-salt is a BIG one. You may very well have lost but it is not showing on the scale because of the salt intake.

I gave up trying to make it about the numbers on the scale and have decided to follow my program of Intuitive Eating and trying to make the best choices and exercising for my over all health.

While the weight loss can be a motivator it can also be the detriment of the program you are following if it stops working...and let's face it, when you are done losing what you want to lose it stops working. That is why so many people gain it all back. The weight loss "high" is not there so they quit. "

" No matter how hard you work out during a given week, you can still not see the scale change, and then next week you are down 5. The body takes time to catch up. Think about all your organs shifting as you lose the fat around them. It takes time. You broke even this week, but you'll see progress next week more than likely. "

" I had a week where I did not lose when I did everything right. I was in my calorie range goal and I worked out hard every day. I looked back and knew right away that I had to much sodium right before I weighed in. I had light soy sauce. The next week I lost the water I had a bigger loss than I normaly would have lost. In the end it all averages out to the same. My last weight in was for two weeks. I lost 8.25 pounds. I know I was seeing previous weeks lost that I just didn't see due to holding on to water weight. When I was younger I never showed a loss durring that time of the month. Sometimes I even showed a gain. But the next week it will show as a loss. I think my body still cycles like that but I have no periods due to menopause. "

" You are doing so well, do keep on track! Your efforts will yield the results you wish...lots of good things in other responses to consider about water gain, muscle, natural delay as body adjusts.

I have a love/hate relationship with the scale and like someone else suggested, for me less is best. In the past I've become obsessed with it and will weigh in all through the day. Am trying not to do that this time.

By the way, dawn mentioned something I'd never heard of, "Intuitive Eating"...can dawn or anyone please let me know a little more about this term? I'm especially curious, because just earlier today my daughter and I were sharing our exasperation over all the guidelines/advice out there about what to eat, how much, how often...and how on earth to make all that fit into our lifestyles. We agreed that we should stop worrying about all that, and start thinking about what makes sense to us. "
