when to disclose NHL to significant other

I just met a man 2 weeks ago. We are getting along great and I never thought I would have a big problem disclosing my diagnosis of Follicular B-Cell NHL. I have had this for close to 10 years but only known about it the last 4. I am doing watch and wait with my doctor and am truly (thank God) in excellent health. The true kicker for me is that he lost his wife of 28 years 17 months ago to Leukemia. Which makes me wonder if I should disclose this sooner rather than later. I would like to wait to know him a bit better, but how long do I wait before it becomes an issue that I waited to long?
Any thoughts/advice for me? Thanks, Cal7 Posted on 10/31/08, 11:10 am |

I think you should tell him now, the sooner the better... why not have the support from him too? YOU are doing well, so I think you should let hime know, especially if you think that this is someone that you will continue to share things with see etc. Good luck!!

I think you need to disclose it at the point you think the relationship might be serious/long-term. Two weeks is not long, so I wouldn't feel too pressured yet.
