Oh god Im going crazy! My son Oren has NF1 with parietal lobe hamartomas and seizures. The problem right now is that he is so picky! all he will eat is ramen noodles, pizza, lasagna, sketties, cereal, french fries and fried chicken. We have celiac and alot of these foods we cant have. We have let him eat whatever for the last 9years as long as he was gaining weight. Now we have to make him eat things he doesnt like. we are aproaching with "just try it!" with no success.
Today we had beef stew and oh my gosh you thought we were feeding him dirt! He has mild to moderate mental delays and is mentally about a 5 to 6 year old but a heck of a lot stronger! we only wanted him to try 1 little piece of a bite. He screamed cried punched kicked and so on all the while scaring the heck out of my 2 year old daughter!
We finally gave up and put him in his bed for time out until he could calm down. Well he passed slap out!? I dont know how to handle this Ive tried everything.
Any ideas?

" My son is very picky too.
sometimes i tell him it is something he likes when it is really something else.
i used to puree the food and mix it into the things he likes.
like i used to puree squash and then roll it in breadcrumbs and fry the chicken. if you can have that with celiac i am not sure.
good luck, i know it is difficult and he used to put up a fight.
my doctor said that as long as during the week he got differnt foods it was ok. "
