Neurofibromatosis Support Group

I have a consition called neurofibromatosis( NF1) It causes tumors to grow in and on the body. Mine are mostly outside the body.I have been made fun of so much because of it.I started to ask God,why me?
My grandson was born with meningitisis. They gave him a 20% chance of living,but he survived.A few years later,he became very sick and the doctors could not find out what was wrong.He was sent to Winston Baptist Hospital.I went with my daughter.The were going to do test the next day but one Doctor was starting to leave and she saw me and ask if I was the grandmother and did I have neurofibromatosis .When I said yes she told the other Doctors they needed to do an MRI ASAP.My grandson had fluid around his brain and they did surgery right away. They said a day would have made all the difference in the world.The neurofibromatosis had nothing to do with his condition but because I was there and I had NF1,it saved his life.I never ask God again why.He gave me my answer. He is now 17 and the sweetest, most loving person you could ever meet.I am a better person because of him and I thank God every day he is in my life.
