Fibroma on tounge?

About a year ago I was just looking in my mouth and I lifted up my tounge and noticed a lump (size of a grape) only a little longer. It has an oval shape but the thickness of a grape. It seems to feel firm. My question is how will they know if it's a fibroma? Can they extract the growth without harming my tounge? It looks as if it's on the surface. Has anyone else experienced this?

no experience with it but depending on the doctor they may be able to do something.
a grape is pretty large so does it effect anything like speech or eating?

No, that's why I never noticed it was there. I just noticed it. That is so strange. When i press on it it seems to be firm.

i havent had personal experiance with fibroma on the tongue,however the RT that worked with my son took care of a child with nf on his tongue, hs was severe but im not trying to scare you just let u know u should get it taken care of now when its not as big as it could get.

i had fibromas removed frm inside my mouth not my tongue they were on my the inside of my cheek. i went to a specialist and he removed them.
