Hi all, especially my site friends. Apologies for not keeping in touch but in all honesty i've been feeling overwhelmed with life lately and today was the day my wife visited the skin specialist her doctor referred her to at the hospital. The dermatologist told her she has several fibromas and after saying she did not believe my wife had NF, my wife asked her to check a lump she can feel in the side of her head, which has been there for many years but definately not all her life. The dermatologist then told my wife she would need to come back in just over a month for removal of a couple of fibromas as well as a biopsy to determine if the lump has any link. My wife was doing ok until this but I know she is very worried by the info. she has read, detailing growths in very dangerous places in the body and head. I know no-one can say for certain but any advice on what this may be. Just to remind people, my wife is 35 yrs and has never had any signs of anything, until a routine check up informed her of having fibromas. Again I appreciate any advice on the matter. If she can feel the bump on the side of her head, it is most likely outside the skull and not in the brain. So she should not worry about that so much. Did he say why he ruled out NF? Does she have any cafe ole (light brown) birthmarks? Does she have any freckling under the armpit? Some people don't get tumors till later in life. I had one as a teen, but didn't get any others till I was in my late 20's early thirties. So, don't panic, she may not have NF and even if she does, she most likely has a very mild case.
