I am newly diagnosed w narcolepsy--diagnosed through sleepstudy w mlst test-am taking Nuvigil 150 daily (4th day) since July I have passed out (I Thot) 450+ times--now I know I was falling asleep! Often while in the bathroom. My biggest question is will the med stop all instances of going out? or just reduce them? 11/1 was a great day--went to church and was higher than a kite--one episode all day--and that is after getting just over 2 hours of sleep! Since then I have "coe back to earth--4 episodes yesterday and 1 so far today anybody w info about the overall use of nuvigil please HELP!!--also, my wife saw something that says can only take for 12 weeks--what happens then?

First, I want to welcome Fellow Ohioan!
I don't do nuvigil...haven't heard anything about the 12 week thing before. With those kinds of cats I am surprised you aren't on Xyrem.

Newly diagnosed also (N but no C), just started Nuvigil about two months ago....started with 1 daily but increased to two...now take 150 mg when I first wake up and another 150 mg about 8 hrs later. Have been happy with it thus far but some days I still have EDS attacks...excessive daytime sleepiness...or microsleeps. Makes me wonder sometimes if I forgot a pill, but I know I didn't. But overall, pretty happy with meds. Was hoping for a weight loss side effect...no such luck. Good luck to you - hope this site helps you; it sure has helped me to be able to read posts by other "narcs"!
