I take Provigil and Adderall and still crash, and from what I have read from others on this site I probably don't have that severe of a case of EDS. My wife used to say to me, and I stress used to, well you take your medication so you should be normal. If that is what you are expecting then I would say that you are indeed expecting too much from it. I don't know of any meds that would make an N patient "normal" when it comes to EDS, at least not yet.
My suggestion is to take the extra "whatever" you get from the meds and use it to it's full potential and do the things that work for you to get through, around, over or beyond the EDS attacks. Good Luck, robere

I don't do day meds now but on Sunday I was tired and wanted to get stuff done so I downed 2 of those 5-hour energy drinks and I still felt tired and had to take a nap...I felt better after the 20 minute nap but don't know if it was the drink or the nap that helped. and yes, I just mentioned something like that on another post...it is frustrating with family members think the the meds are going to make you "normal"...No matter how many meds I take I am still not going to be the perfect wife! =-D

when i first started taking provigil they were what i called my eye opener tablets , but as the years have past , they dont do what they used to do anymore , i can take one in the morning with 2dex , and still fall asleep , i have tried different ways at taking my medication on the morning , because if i fall back to sleep then its a waste of my mornings dose of tablets , its hard to try and manage my medication the best i can , the amount i do take still isnt enough to keep me awake long ,

Depending on when I wake up, I often still need a nap in the afternoon. If I get up around eleven or twelve (after the not sleeping because of fear or pain, see previous discussion) then I can often stay awake until bedtime (although if sleep doesn't happen when I'm tired at that point, the next day is full of sleep).
