" I bought one several weeks ago and I am starting to notice a difference. You have to open your eyes for them to be most effective though...lol

My goal to wake before noon has me setting an alarm for 10or 10:30am and taking my meds. I then allow myself to go back to sleep for another hour. The next alarm is when I turn this light on and it seems to be helping me have more energy. Of course I am taking vit D3 and a few other supplements to try to improve my sleep/wake schedule.

My Happy Light is the verilux model that is small enough to set on your bed side table or next to your computer. I bought it at walgreen's. "

" Beth,

I have been using the Happy Light now for about 2 1/2 months and it makes a HUGE difference for me. If I don't turn mine on when I first get up in the morning I can't get going.

At work has been the biggest difference. I try not to use it the whole time I am there but if I don't have it on I start going out. I can turn it on high and within 10 minutes am feeling more awake and alert.

There is NO doubt in my mind that without the light I would be back to having 30-50 sleep attacks a day. Now I have 0-2. HUGE, HUGE difference for me.

The other HUGE difference is in my memory and thought processes. I really start getting lethargic and can't think straight or remember anything. With the light though I feel like my old self again.

It takes me about 30 minutes to get home from work and by time I get home I am out of it again. I take my stims and turn the light on and again within about 15-20 minutes I am back to feeling better.

It doesn't always work though. If I am having a particularly bad N day it is almost a bad thing to use it. The reason I say that is because it still keeps me awake but then my body is raging for a nap. I am trying to get my employer to give me longer breaks so I can take a nap at work. The light does help me stay awake but I get pretty sick from lack of sleep.

The Happy Light from Verilux is pretty expensive. I found another one on Amazon.com for about $50. The one I have at work that has 6500 LUX cost $89.95, and the two I have at home, both have 2500 LUX cost I think $69.95. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Thanks a BUNCH to Marcia for suggesting them. :-) "
