Advice:
Sleep study tonight

I'm relatively new. I only posted one time but got some great advice and now I am hoping for some more :)

I have my sleep study tonight/nap study tomorrow. Did anyone go into their study afraid now when it comes down to the time you aren't going to be able to sleep. Specifically, I nap pretty regularly, but I am quite certain I am not going to be able to when I am told to - resulting in me looking like I don't have any problem/reason to be there.

" I was worried before my test, and I didn't sleep that well at all. They managed to get what they needed though. I found the bed to be very uncomfortable and the pillow was awful too. You might want to take a few extra of your own. I didn't have any problems with the nap tests at all. I was really surprised how quickly I went out. "

" It was a great chance to sleep lots. I was not so nervous, but mostly because I thought they idea that I might have narcolepsy was ridiculous, so I was just looking forward to finding out what actually is wrong with my sleep.

It turned out that it was not such a ridiculous notion that I may be narcoleptic

For my sleep study, I napped on the hour long drive to the sleep clinic (which the apparently recommend you don't do, because they want you to be able to sleep that night). It did not matter though, because I slept the entire night through, all 5 naps the next day, and I had troubles staying awake between naps.

Honestly though, there is nothing to worry about. The people will be very friendly. It's a bit awkward (especially if you sleep on your stomach like I do), but think of it as an opportunity to sleep your little heart out. A good book and puzzles help for entertainment between naps.

Best of luck! Don't stress about sleep, just relax and try to feel as normal as possible. "
