Light boxes & alarm clocks

Has anyone tried to use the light boxes that people affected by SAD have? Have also been told about Sunrise/Sunset alarm clocks. I got couple of daylight bulbs the other day, which do give a nicer light, but didn't stop me napping.

Also, someone told me the sunrise alarm clocks fade up to reduce serotonin & increase cortisol levels to wake you up. Does anyone know about cortisol's role in N?

Have managed to stay up without a nap for the last 3 days, but today am feeling a bit under the weather, & did start to dose off soon after putting it on this morning! Am still on the go though.... "

It does help tremendously, as I have waken up with a happy feeling every morning since using it. Of course nothing is as good as waking up to natural sunlight but when you have to get up before the sun, it is the next best thing. I highly recommend this clock. I researched quite a few before deciding on this one, "

" My lamp seems to do the same, cheri. Can't say that it makes me alert, but do seem more content when I use it, esp when I then put on the daylight bulb in the bedroom after getting up. I guess u're right Marilyn - lots of little things. "
