" ty so much!

As it stands right now I would have to pay over $300.00 a month and that is just for this rx. I already pay over 100 a month for my other rx that are covered under my insurance.

Going to work on this tomorrow. thanks again for the information! "

" My co-pay was $83.32 or something ridiculous for 30 of them (what my dr considers a 15-day supply). However, when I was at his office he gave me this card with the samples that gives me $50 off my next 6 prescriptions (okay technically my 1st 6) so I was able to get them filled for $33!! But that's only either until the end of the year or my first 6 scripts I don't remember which one. I gave it to the pharmacy and they said I wouldn't have to present it again. But I don't know if this helps you any. Maybe your doctor can talk to the drug rep that visits his office for those cards?

I really hope you can find a way to get the assistance you need!! These drugs are so freakin expensive, I don't know how they expect us to pay our bills and our pharmacies! Let me know if you want me to try and send you any more info on that card? I can try and take a picture and email it or something?! "

" Ok I am in tears now....

The cephalon people cant help me because I have true blue insurance. Doesnt matter that they wont pay a penny for the rx. They gave me some other numbers to try but none of those wont help me either because I dont have cancer. They gave me a number to get 1 monthes free pills but what the hell is that.......dangel a carrot in front of my face and than rip it away cause I cant afford to get it after that.

First time in 5 years I am not falling on the floor or doing the funky chicken and actually can think straight and I cant keep it because I am not rich........I am so upset right now its not funny "

" Call your doctors office tell them what is going on, hopefully they will have samples they can give to you regularly, and or they have or can get the discount cards for Nuvigil. Is there a charity type hospital\ pharmacy you can go to ? If worse comes to worse apply for medicaid and get the medicine that way. Good Luck and I will contuine to look for ways to help you. "

" Ok I'm thinking again here, I just hate when insurance refuses to pay. Does your ins. not want to pay for this because it is new, expensive, or doesn't have a generic? Can you or have you done an appeal with the insurance company? The approach I take with my insurance is : you are being paid by me or my employer so therefore you are suppose to work for me not against me. I have done appeals with my insurance before, it is usually frustrating and drawn out, but with a doctor who is willing to work with you on this, your appeal should be won.Call the ins. co. and ask to speak to a claims supervisor and ask them excalty how to appeal and why you are appealing, alot of times they will do a phone appeal which is a much shorter process. Good Luck "

" Thanks Cheri

I got ahold of my docs offics yesterday .......his nurse called me back and expected to hear a very happy person......instead I was crying. I told her why and she said that dr howard would write a letter and submit it to the insurance to get the med approved for me. She would not promise that it would work but that they would try.
My insurance is true blue which is a form of medicare......its the government that doesnt want to cover it and they want us to go to a health care program when they cant even help people on the one they got now.......they do have differant drug coverages though and in november I can pick a differant one that might cover it but my husband said that if this one doesnt than they all might not because they all fall under the same guide lines. But for now I am getting my doc to send in the letter and I also called my general practioner doc and asked if they also could ask that this med be approved.
All in all I think that finding out that this med works for me was for the best. I now know that not getting sleepy helps stop the cat attacks for me so all I have to do is not get sleepy.......sounds easy huh? hehe
My husband wants me to try taking some energy suplaments to see if they will work......I say......fat chance but....I wont know unless I try.
I will keep you posted as to what happens......at least today I am not crying anymore. thanks for your support you guys. "
