I'm 60, male, and healthy. For the last 2 tears my WBC have dropped consistently and am now at wbc=1.7 and neutrophils = 0.9.. My specialist has diagnosed MDS in absence of another explanation after testing for other options to no avail. Bone marrow biopsy was normal with 2% blasts. RBC and platelets are just under normal but OK. No infections at all and clotting OK for now . I'm on no treatment but have been advised to get testing for bone marrow donors.
Anyone have this picture now or previously? Thanks Rod

" Dear Rod,
Good luck. I would say with only 2% blasts you are a very small way along the way. So no diminution of platelet count? What is your Red Blood Cell Count?
Keep in touch
Chris "

" Thanks Chris for the reply.
RBC and platelets are both down 10% only below the range minimum. Slight anaemia and slight tendency to bruise..not really a problem here at the moment and feel totally normal at the moment.
Its hard to find a similiar blood picture. Rod "
