Okay I have seen a lot of things in this group about the Antibodies and I would like to know is there a such thing as a "normal" number?

Is the lower the number the better you are? Because I don't remember ever getting mine tested but Im sure I did when I was young for after all I have had this since I was 2 and a half years of age so there is a lot of things that I don't know about me in the beginning and my mother is like 57 so she doesn't quit remember all the way back to like 1985 when she started having me tested at least to get my disability anyway or even back as far as 30 years ago...Thats kind of far to remember for her...lol

" I do believe that the lower the number the better....I think but could be totally off, but the normal count would be less than .05. So if a "normal person" has them the number should be almost imperceiveable. "

" I was told by my doctor that the normal number is .02 and mine was 1.0, which is 50 times what it should be. I hope that helps. "

" After reading the answers and all the different numbers it seems that the lower the number the better chances are that you are in remission sorta speak but it also seems that it varies from person to person and I would guess on how bad your situation is.. "

" When I was first diagnosed through the blood test, I was told the "normal" range should be under 0.4. Mine was 19. So the lower the number the better. "

" I have "antibody negative" MG meaning that my antibody tests come back normal. I was told that this happens for a small percentage of people with MG... So it took 4+ years to finally be diagnosed. I went through alot of tests and Doctors during those years. I was actually relieved when I was finally diagnosed because they couldn't say I was crazy anymore, and I could finally get REAL treatment. So to answer your question, the actual number may mean less then would first appear. "
