Dear Marvin will be dearly missed. He has not posted for a long time due to his medical condition. However, I can still remember his loving and insightful post.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet Marvin and Gayle last year in Las Vegas at the MGFA conference. He had a gentle, caring way about him and a quick wit. Marvin was a very smart man who lived life to the fullest. It was a honor to know him.
I can't imagine drawing two short straws...MG and ALS. Marvin faced his illness with grace and dignity.
Rest well my friend and hope we meet again.

My sympathies to Marvin's family. Always sad to hear of a passing, but knowing he is now free of earthly ailments is a comfort,

I never had the pleasure of meeting Marvin, but I know from reading his CaringBridge journalings that he embraced whatever life he still had, day by day, with, as Sherry said, grace and dignity.

He used his last months to leave a treasure trove of written memories and musings for his friends and family... about his many rich life experiences.

Whenever I have felt sorry for myself... struggling with mildish MG... I have thought of Marvin... struggling not only with the substantial burden of his MG, but with the CRUSHING weight of ALS which was systematically and relentlessly taking his life.

Rest in peace, dear Marvin! There are no words for the inspiration you have been to your DS family. Thank you!!!

Oh I am so sorry to hear this, I don't think I knew marvin, I have not been around as much lately but I am so sorry to hear he had both MG and ALS. Prayers to his wife and family.

Thank you for sharing this information. Marvin will not be forgotten. Glad he was ready and went peacefully.

I used to have messages with him. We talked a little about basketball and him coaching etc. in Long Beach. This all happened so quickly for him. I would like for him to be put with Carla and Curt in our honorary members area...
