Understanding RNS Results

Hello:

I requested a copy of my EMG tests and the neuro's interpretation. I got charts of numbers and a sentence that said abnormal repetitive nerve stimulation consistent with MG (no neuropathy, no myopathy).

Does anyone know of a resource that will help me understand the numbers in the charts, especially the RNS?

Thanks,
Rhonda

" Rhonda,

You could chart the numbers on a graph which would show you how the muscle responded or you could just look at the general outline of the numbers. Where they are abnormal, the highs of the last batch
Should be lower than the first, the second should be probably about the same as the first and the others, if more than one, inbetween. This corresponds with what happens to us when we use a muscle and it works fine for awhile then unexpectedly just quits. The main thing is that you have a positive test that supports MG and not some other kind of muscle problem. The numbers probably vary depending on the testing equipment and calibration, it is the shape of the graphs that is important. Hump hump hump slightly lesser hump, followed by more quickly flattening humps ( usually they do several series of four, but you may remember exactly how it was done. b. "
