I have had MG for 2 1/2 yrs now, im a mother of 1 and he is 6. My problem is my neourologist.I see hime every 6 months and hwen I do go to see him the appt last for 5 min (honestly). He asks me how am i? and do I need any refills?

Just last week I felt so bad, I mean falling outside, not being able to talk, just all around weak. I went to see my dr ( face all bruised up) all he did was ask the same 2 questions and say i'll see you in 6 months. Now my issue with that is it seems as though he doesnt really care, I had to tell him i've been doing research on the thymectomy and then he says something about it. I told him I think we should try increaseing one or some of the medications, I also told him the IGIV wasnt doing anything...so he sends for another one, i dont see the point if there not helping and they are very expensive. Should I be looking for a new doc? Its to the point where my PCP has to call him to see what the update is!

" Have you had blood tests for autoimmune antibodies. You need them first. If positive, then have Thymectomy. See Dr. Blair Marshall's article recommending Thymectomy

Both my civilian neurologist and military neurologist at Walter Reeed Army Hospital are absolutely brilliant and wonderful, see me often, do strength tests each time, arrange IVIG when needed, etc. I wish each of youhad such great doctors. Are there really not more than three neurologists in Wilmington, DE. Then go to Philly or Univ of Maryland MG Clinic. "
