" Yes, this is a VERY SERIOUS WARNING.
My wife inadvertently took tizandine (Zanaflex) and cipro at the same time.

It almost killed her.

The cipro inhibits the liver from metabolizing the tizanidine, causing the concentration of the muscle relaxer to go to 10 times normal, or in some cases 24 times the normal concentration.

The end result is the same as consuming 10 to 24 doses of the muscle relaxer at once. The heart "relaxes" and your blood pressure drops. The result could be lethal.

Do not take these medications at the same time. Thank you for sharing the warning Brad.

" Thanks for the info. I am on zanaflex, I will make sure I don't get cipro along with it if I would need it. "
