Fatigue - Is this forever?

What I want to know is is does it ever go away? I cant sleep and I am tired all the time. Some days it's all I can do to get out of bed. Of all my symptoms this is the one I hate the most. I can handle the pains in my hands and feet, been dealing with that most of my life really, the vision problems can be compensated for with reading glasses and a pocket magnifiying glass, and I can write notes to myself and set the schedulers up on my computer and phone to remind me of things. But the fatigue keeps me from getting out and enjoying life. I have these little energy drinks my wife purchases for me by the case and they help some, but today it just is not enough. This weekend has been really bad. Today just typing on my computer is exhausting.

" Agreed eating healthy works wonders, I cook a lot of stuff with chicken and olive oil. (for me drinking less helps), i take Vitamin A, B complex, C1000, and D3. I've been feeling great. I've gotten my provigil lowered to 100 mgs a day. Also I take creatine (protein supplement). It helps maintain muscle and gives your energy.

Now if only the pain in my neck would stop without hydrocodones, which i don't even take anymore. Think i need to go back. "

" This is one of my most frustrating symptoms too - it gets in the way of everything and is aggrevating. I don't even make plans any more because I'm afraid to make plans becuase I don't know if I'll be too tired to follow through. It really is the one thing that makes me feel disabled.

Anyway, I do take Provigil, and that helps, but not if I take it too many days in a row, and it can make falling asleep even harder to do.

I've also discovered Vitamin Water: Revive which has electrolytes, potassium, and B vitamins in it and is Fruit Punch flavor. It helps for short stints. "

" I take many vitamins, eat both gluten-free and vegan (one free day a week if I want!) do yoga as much as I can, and generally try to do everything else I can to keep fatigue away. I think it all helps. But I had to go without coffee for two days, and I really realized that without it flowing along with blood, I am almost unable to keep my head up. I LOVE MS! "

" I am in agreement with all those whose primary focus in this regard is nutritional health and physical fitness. If you keep track of your nutrition with a tool like fitday (fitday.com which is free), you can see where your diet may be lacking in the basics. I also think the Best Bet Diet is well worth following. Soursop (graviola) tea is a natural sleep aid so you might try that to get a good night's sleep. If after doing all this for a few months doesn't help, then look into going on meds for it if you can afford it. I realize nutrition and exercise don't always solve a medical issue but it's the best place to start and unlike drugs, only has positive side effects! "
