Coppari R, Ramadori G, Gautron L, et al., Central Administration of Resveratrol Improves Diet-Induced Diabetes, Endocrinology, Published online October 9, 2009

Univ of Texas Southwestern Medical Center researchers who authored the study, examined a group of overweight mice found to have numerous inflamed organs. Dr. Roberto Coppari, the study's senior researcher, indicated, ****"But when we delivered resveratrol in the brain, it alleviated inflammation in the brain."

By the end of the five week study, the mice given resveratrol experienced a drop in insulin levels about halfway to normal, whereas animals not given resveratrol did not experience lower levels.

There are a group of enzymes in the body called sirtuins ie SIRT 1. It seems that when SIRT 1 is activated in the body, it has several very positive metabolic activities, such as helping to ** maintain healthy glucose and insulin levels. It also appears to have a very positive effect on the ** cardiovascular system, immune function and weight management. reveratrol activates these sirtuin enzymes.

We have been using it for several months. This is the thing though that I am still trying to reearch is what type/brand is the best. It is just like calcium which in many multi vitamins is calcium sme form of oxide is not very absorbale. If you take calcium citrate with magnesium malate these are VERY absorbale.
Well I am trying to find out if freeze dried resveratrol is better/worse then processing used by other manufactures. I am trying to get the one with the most absorable nutrients.

If anyone has any info on this topic please post.

Thanks,
EP

" Just some additional info. If you crave sweets then you may be low on dopamine.

What causes low dopamine levels?

Dopamine levels are depleted by stress, certain antidepressants, drug use, poor nutrition, and poor sleep. Alcohol, caffeine, and sugar all seem to decrease dopamine activity in the brain.

Foods that increase Dopamine

Food sources of dopamine increasing tyrosine include almonds, avocados, bananas, dairy products, lima beans, pumpkin seeds, and sesame seeds.

Dopamine is easily oxidized. Foods that are rich in antioxidants such as fruits and vegetables may help protect dopamine-using neurons from free radical damage. Many healthcare professionals recommend supplementing with vitamins C, vitamin E, and other antioxidants.

Foods such as sugar, saturated fats, cholesterol, and refined foods interfere with proper brain function and can cause low dopamine. Consumption of saturated fats and cholesterol should also be reduced because they can clog the arteries to the brain, heart, and other organs

5-HTP, Glutamine, Tyrosine and dl- Phenylalanine plus vitamins B6 and C that help convert these amino acids into brain neurotransmitters involved in cravings for carbos/sugar, drugs and alcohol, energy levels and mood. Increasing the levels of these amino acids leads to a more balanced level of Serotonin and Dopamine. Serotonin is the neurotransmiiter MANY antidepressents work on preventing reuptake of the tranmitter and leading to more positive mood.

Chromium is also something that helps you regualate glucose better and can help reduce sugar cravings. "

" cis and trans are chem terms for the shape of a molecule.
Per Consumer Lab trans-resveratrol is more bio available. In their tests they found "Bioforte" was one of the most absorbable products sold. "
