" Ativan is a muscle relaxer. It really helps anxiety and helps you sleep. It doesn't last for a really long time, which is sort of good. "

" i used it back in the 90's for anxiety and insomnia. it worked great, i felt totally normal and it helped me sleep, had insomnia for 3 months during which time i got 1 hour of sleep each day max. I was back to myself in less than 2 weeks, and off the med within about 2.5 months. I know to ask for it again if I ever need it! Good luck! "

" I use it, but I dont take it very often. I only use it if I am having a panic attack or if I cant sleep. Its habit forming and you can build a tolerance.

Its pretty safe as long as you dont mix it with depressants or other medications for depression or anxiety. Its not scary at all. You just relax and feel at peace. Nothing to be afraid of. Dont drink with it.

Dont take it the number of times that it says on the bottle. Its not a preventative drug. You dont take it morning and night. Try to only take it when you need it. Space it out as much as you can.

I use it when I have to get steroids for MS or for my stomach. "

" It's effect is individual.. with klonopin, very stupid behavior can result, like undressing outside. This does not happen to everyone.. just be careful... "

" I am by no means proud to offer this - but I have walked away (quit) from virtually every drug dependency there is. Alcohol. cocaine, crack, heroin, cigarettes and benzodiazepines. Unfortunately - benzos are the worst ... take the longest time for the brain to re thread itself and create the longest period of dysfunction, after the fact. The bottom line however is that the desire for clean living theoretically does not trump the need for help and resources on a practical level. Chronic pain sufferers are among the most ill-treated and least respected of all contemporary patient\consumers. The requirement for Benzos is typically handled in a similar fashion. Patients who require pharmaceuticals are generally regarded as a lower form of life. If I am required to take LAMOTRIGINE for the rest of my life - what risk is there then for me to take an another anxiety medicine for the remainder of my days? Doctors as moral-gatekeepers have overstayed their welcome. We patients must resist their hubris and begin vigorously to steer our ship towards the safer waters we know about and deserve to lay our timid anchors within, One way or another we have all been turned into Iatrogenic junkies and must be extra vigilant to listen and ask for help from our peers -our co-traumatized victims - not just the elite folks in their crisp white togas. I've gone on and on ,,,, but if anyone wishes more details or discussion from someone who can never again be lied to or manipulated - I am here. "
