just started a higher dose of 22 and notice the red spots on my butt are still there after a week and sore when I touch them. How long does that take to clear up?

" Hey, I actually looked this morning and noticed that I do have red spots in every injection site. They're just not as bright as on my stomach. That Rebif, it's great stuff! lol! "

" I take Rebif and have found that the deeper I get the injection into fat the less problems I have. I stopped using the injector after the third shot. It is very easy to inject manually since the needle is so small.

Sometimes when the medicine going in really hurts along with burning I take it out and reinsert the needle. I discovered those times I have hit a little vein because I bleed a little bit from the site. This place ends up as a bruise.

All in all it is not bad since you only inject three times a week. "

" I have been on Rebif for about 4 months now and I find I only get the red spots when I don't massage well enough after the injection.. I got into heat packs 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after the injection and that also helps to redce the red spots.. and mine, when they happen, tend to last about a week and are very tender.. I was lucky enough to have one on my leg when I went on a day of roller coasters and got the pleasure of having the lap restraint constantly pressed into it.. super fun :) "

" I forgot to add that the nurse who came to my home to show me everything told me to massage the site for 2 minutes after injecting. I don't go the full two minutes but I do massage well after I am done.

I don't just massage with the alcohol wipe while cleaning up. I cover back up with whatever clothing covers the spot and really massage the skin.
Sometimes I can feel the medicine dispersing as it burns a little as it moves around.

I still get red spots but they are not sore and tender. I think it is because of massaging more of the medicine away from the injection site. "
