Hey guys,

Quick question.. My fiance and I are planning on making a donation to a MS organization and wanted some opinions from the group as far as which foundation would use our money most appropriately. Rather than handing out favors at our wedding, we decided that a donation from us would do more good than a silly thing that most people would eventually throw out.

We are considering MSAA or National MS Society, any opinions? We would be open to other organizations as well

" Don't give to the local chapter of the MS society as all of the money goes to administrative costs! As for national, about 1/2 goes towards research. Montel Williams Foundation uses ALL the money for research. that is where I give my money. I know that it is actually going towards finding a cure. You might want to look into that. Look into: The Montel Williams MS Foundation. Congratulations on your nuptials and may your future be blessed with only good things! "

" I would agree with the no to the local chapter of the MS society. I know that I and several friends have benefited greatly from the programs offered by the MSAA, so of the two I would definitely go with them.
I think this is a wondeful thing you are doing, and wish you all the best! "

" My all time fav charity is CCI ~ Canine Companions for Independence ~ http://www.cci.org/site/c.cdKGIRNq... ~ for whomever needs a service dog, not just MS'rs ...

There's NTAF ~ Nat'l Transplant Assistance Fund & Catastropich Injury Program ~ http://www.transplantfund.org/ ~ also not just for MS'rs ...

I can personally attest to the integrity of NTAF from having recently used them ~ they provide full disclosure & account for all monies collected & disbursed ~ they only keep 4% of cash / check donations for admin fees & 7% of CC donations (admin + 3% merchant fee)

With both of the above, you can specify the targeted demographic of your donation, whether it be a specific individual, a particular disease group or even a region.

I commend your generosity & what it does to raise awareness among your wedding guest as well ~ kudos & also congrats on your upcoming marriage :-) "

Good luck guys and let us know what you end up deciding and how the big day goes. "

" I have to say - I have personally benefited greatly from the National MS Society in my area. I would suggest donating to them as they are a great organization as far as I am concerned! "
