Had MS protocol MRI over the weekend and saw my family doctor today. He recommended I start taking calcium/magnesium. Took two tablets and actually feel worse.

Do you have any experience taking magnesium? Has it helped in any way?

" if you're taking magnesium, you take magnesium

if you take calcium, then magnesium is needed with it

do not take enough calcium to match the magnesium, it'll kill ya!

400 mg - 500 mg magnesium helps with digestion and maybe some leg issues. ... 800-1000 mg is like draino! "

" I am wondering in what way you feel worse. I really like magnesium and wouldn't do without my supplements (along with the calcium), In the appropriate amounts, as LarryLDN described, it helps with calming the body (especially muscles), helps with consipation and helps the heart to have a regular heart beat. All these things have been useful for me. I hope that you get it worked out and find some benefit from it. "

" My neurologist says Magnesium, Calcium and extra Vitmin D are very important. I started doing high doses of magnesium a few years ago for a restless leg syndrome condition that went away almost entirely after starting magnesium. Of course my dr. says that could have been a period when i was having a "flare" with out realizing it. some of my lesions look like they've been there awhile. "

" See I think RLS is LOW Bp (or REALLY high bp)deficiency that leads to tissue degrade if not treated. It would be a UNIQUE deficiency in different people. The trick is finding which malabsorption/metabolism problem you have and treat it...IF the THEORY is correct. (week after I came up with this idea I read about 2004 Penn state study that showed def. of iron due to ..drum roll malabsorption issue).

Glad Kim got tested and took what she was lacking. Book lizard have you ever had any testing to see if you are deficient in anything??

It would be cool if we could get a list of all the people out here who KNOW they have a deficiency and what their UNIQUE symptoms are. Then you could go to doc with your unique symptoms if they match up with a few people out here. It could give you a place to START to find answers and see if it applies to your health.

Deficient: My hubby has very low D and testosterone is not where it should be either.
Symptoms: NO brain fog, major compliant is fatigue, urinary urgency.

Best Wishes,
EP "
