since my diagnosis i had an attack once a month. It was horrible...But now that i think about it....MY LAST ATTACK WAS 4 MONTHS AGO!!! i mean it's taken a while for my vision to get back to how it used to be but it's getting there! So FINALLY WOOOOOOOOOO MS IS MY B****!
but another odd thing i've noticed... Ok...so with that attack was when i found out i had blood clots right? since then i was told by the hematologist to take an aspirin a day... So my question is this... theoretically speaking...could aspirin be helping the ms? I mean aspirin is a NSAID (NON steroidal anti inflammatory drug) and part of the ms problem is the inflammation of the myelin...hmm....what do ya'll think? I'm so happy! I'm having little symptoms here and there but nothing bad enough to keep me from exercising! WOooooOOoooOOooo Posted on 05/14/08, 05:05 am |

My feeling is, it can't hurt! Don't mess with things if they seem to be working. Thats my motto.

The following list contains only NSAIDs that are commonly used: Aspirin Salsalate (Amigesic) Diflunisal (Dolobid) Ibuprofen (Motrin) Ketoprofen (Orudis) Nabumetone (Relafen) Piroxicam (Feldene) Naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn) Diclofenac (Voltaren) Indomethacin (Indocin) Sulindac (Clinoril) Tolmetin (Tolectin) Etodolac (Lodine) Ketorolac (Toradol) Oxaprozin (Daypro) Celecoxib (Celebrex) and it helps to take the lowest dose possible and make sure it is enteric safety coated

I think there are some studies out there on aspirin's effects on fatigue in MS so there is a good chance that it could be helping in other ways, too.

A Mayo clinic study showed aspirin helps with fatigue.
http://www.msneighborhood.com/cont... I've taken one aspiring a day because it's supposed to reduce incidence of cancer. I increased to one pills 2x/day since MS DX. Fatigue is not really one of my symptoms. It's very light if at all. Aspirin - the wonder drug.

So glad to hear the good news! You got me curious about the asprin too. Continue to get well and stay in remission a very long time...or for infinity days...as my 6 year old would say!
