I am on Cymbalta 120mg. I was put on it for the painin my legs prior to getting dx with MS. It didnt seem to really help with that, but did seem to help with my anxiety and mood. Once I was dx, I was having a hard time with the dx so my Dr. upped it to 120mg. It works great for the anxiety, moods etc. I decided to stay on it till after my spinal tap for any depression isues I may have. It worked great and still does. Well now I have had to stop working, husband is self employeed, so I have to pay out of pocket for my inusrance I kept. The stupid insurance will cover for the Cymbalta to 60mg once a day but not twice a day. I cant afford $300 plus for that medication but desperatly need it. So my MS Dr. decieded to change the Cymbalta to 60mg once a day and add Celexa 20mg with it.

I am worried for several reasons. One is the seratonin level, the reactions mixing the medications etc. When I stopped working in April I did a BIG no no and stopped the Cymbalta cold turkey due to financial reason since I was no longer working. What a huge mistake, it was HELL for 3-4 days. I finally called the Dr and got right back on it. I was fixed with 12 hrs of starting it back. As much as I dont want to take anti-depressants and or anxiety meds, this one works and dont want to stop it. I just cant afford additional $300 a month for it.

So, my question is this, does anyone take Cymbalta? If so what dose? Do you take Celexa with it or another medication with the Cymbalta? Which one and does it work?

Thanks,
Christysms

" Why do you need 120 mg of Cymbalta?

Once you have reached a basket case of depression then you will soon be escalated to a concoction of more severe medications that are intended to treat basket cases. But if you are not a basket case then don't get such high doses of what you do not need.

The regular level, like 60 mg, handles depression fairly well and they are covered by most public assistance programs. But a specialized dose like 120 mg is not covered because it is simply that; specialized.

So get additional professional advice to see if you really need such a high dose. "
